A guy from Boston called me about my 91 C4 ....it has 73000 original miles 6 speed..5.7 liter w/alum. heads....it's red w/targa roof and except for a few sun spots on the paint in really nice shape. This clown drives 5 hours to my house after i told him $10,000 on the phone and gets out his little car price book and tells me it's only worth $8200 and knock off another $1000 because the tires are worn and starts writing out a check for $7200 like im gonna get on my hands and knees and praise the lord for letting me see the light....i hope he had a nice 5 hr ride home....the :jester

$8,500 KBB in excellent shape.... looks like he was going for the KBB price and then he wanted to deduct $1,000 for tires, that was his logic anyway.....
You should be able to get $10,000 but the market is tough. I just picked up a 93 with 34,000 miles for $11,900.
Yea the guy turned out to be a dealer, but on the phone he made it sound like he really wanted the car for himself. To all you car dealers out there: Please bring your own vasoline....thankyou :seeya
That guy is a twit. It seems to me that wholesalers and dealers have quite the attitude, lie regularly, and they screw the public.....its their nature and their business :U

Yeah, but that is how they make their money... The idea is to do it without insulting someone though. He was a twit for acting that way. All he had to do was be upfront with you and then tell you before making a low-ball offer that he didn't want to insult you. If he would have acted more diplomatic about it, you would have refused his offer, but wouldn't have had ill feelings towards him.
Like Grandpa always said, "There's always more than 1 way to skin a cat."
