:mad In April, some clown in a Ford 350 Club Cab roars out of his parking spot and travels 40 feet in reverse to nail my '93 Ruby on the left rear fender. $750, but they did a wonderful job repairing and painting it (his insurance paid the tab). Today, my wife is at KMart and pulls into the parking slot and some idiot (Jaguar) backs out without looking (the space was empty when he got in his car!) and crosses over far enough that he whacks her prisitine '96 Lincoln town Car on the left rear fender. All these years and never a scratch and her beloved white whale has a major ooowie! She was (and is) p/o'ed. Had to hide my guns just to be on the safe side. I know these people don't do it on purpose, but have a reasonable care, please. I just don't know why folks have to be in such a hurry to leave a parking lot. It could just as easily have been a fragile human being back there! Wait until his insurance co. gets the bill on THIS one. OY! :nopity
Well I have a new one.
It happened yesterday I was parallel parked legally in a parking lot. Went inside a computer store I glance out the window and see a Pontiac grand am backing out. I say out loud to a friend she better not hit my Vette and continued looking around shop.2secs later the clerk at shop tells me he saw her hit it and my vette was still shaking. So I look out window she is taking off.
I go outside she sees me in rear veiw and procedes to pull into spot right before exit. She gets out and strts screaming at me telling me she workins in the center and i was ilegaly parked and it wasn't her fault.I Started to get real pissed I said to her (in The calmist voice i could find ) you could see the shiny Red Corvette behind you it was there when you walked out of your office 20 feet away in plain sight. She imediatly got pissed I wounder why hehe.
I figued ill give her my biz card ill get her's i know where she works and we will deal with it calmly over the phone im 6ft4 and she was like 5ft4 and it was a very tense situation and i was way too pissed to listen to her run her mouth. We departed after exchangeing bussness cards thought all was good.
Called later in day asked for her insurance she said she wasn't going to give it to me because the nose bra was on my car and she could not see damage and i also was parked ilegaly.I called B.S, she said she called police and they said she didn't have too.She didnt know I had my digital camera in car and had already taken pics of car before it was moved and surrounding area.
So i went to police station for some reasurance and the cop said they would of never told her that and that ahd that i was legaly parked and she was at fault and let the insurance fight it out he even called her on the phone and advised her to give me the info my phone rang two min later with the info.I called her insurance and started the claim process .Stopped by dealer today to find out just how much cost was going to be so i had a idea when i go to get the aprasal.Nose of car has been shifted over a half in and now has a 1/2 in gap on driver side and no gap on passinger side hodd is chipping where it hits nose bra is torn hood wont pop right,Dealer said she would have been better hitting the door she hit it in a soft spot corner of front bumper went over and under both and he said vettes dont like that $2200 cosmetics only and it isnt even crinkled .Sorry for being soo long winded
well we will see how good allstate adjusters are

I went through something similar when the guy hit my Corvette. At first he admitted his fault, then later denied that he even hit my car. (I had the names of two witnesses.) Wouldn't reply to his insurance company. I finally took the claim to my insurance company, they notified his company and they notified him that if he didn't reply in 48 hours, his insurance was canceled. That got his attention but it took six weeks to get it ironed out.
Whenever I park out in the middle of a large lot where there aren't any other cars, when I come out of the store I usually find a large truck--OR TWO--parked right next to me. :mad Missouri SUCKS!!! (can I say "sucks"??--if not, SORRY--it won't happen again!)
Believe me it ain't just Missouri. No matter where you park your Vette some idiot in their $50.00 car will be found next to your baby when you exit the store. It must be some law that any car parked by itself in the farthest corner of the parking lot must have some rusted out heap of dung parked next to it by order of the local P.D..

That's terrible. :nonod: Bad drivers...... :mad Hope you don't get any crap from the other guy's insurance co. Remember, they do NOT have your best intrests in mind.
Yeah I have my share of morons backing into the car. She hit it so hard the reverse gear in the tranny cracked and within a day was stripped bare. Sux that it has to be reverse to get the key out of the ignition. Oh Yeah, she ran, but there was 1 witness who told me about 2 weeks later after I had sent the car the tranny shop :cuss :banghead:
Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of the driving populace care about their cars about as much as they care about their washing machines or toaster ovens. And they care even less about YOUR car. After all, you carelessly left it behind, sitting out there in the parking lot. You should have realized that leaving your car (or any of your other home appliances) unattended in the parking lot creates a hazardous obstacle which is difficult for the average driver to avoid.
