I've recently noticed that after starting my '96 with the AC on, no air will come out of the upper vents for 5-10 minutes, but the floor vents pump out plenty of cold air, (freezes my leg). I don't recall it exibiting this behavior last year, is this normal? :skep:

I don't know it the actuators in a '96 are operated by vacuum. If they are, it could be a vacuum leak.

BTW, my dad always told me to never start or turn off the car with the A/C on. I don't remember why, but to this day I always make sure the A/C is off before starting or turning off all my cars.

I had the same problem start last year on my 96 LT1. I am now is the process of replacing the AC programmer under the dash. It will be an expensive repair but in GA you really need the AC as soon as you crank the car.

Now I have to order a replacement.
