Yesterday I was on my way to a seminar for work. I had the Taurus, even though it was a beautiful day, because I didn't want to leave the Vette in a parking garage all day down town. Anyway, near my house I pull up to a light next to a guy in a 93 white vert with red int. I wave to him and say nice car. His reponse was...an extrmely cockey, "Yup". So, I said I have a triple white 92. Then he says all apologetic like...."you do...cool." As if I didn't have a Vette, he was to good for me.
Seems some of us have this better than thou attitude. If you ask me, if ANYONE gives my car a compliment, I'm going to say thanks and appreciate it. Just felt like venting, 'cause this guy ticked me off.
Those kind of people don't bother me. I have a Wrangler as a daily, and have often complimented people on their vette while in my Jeep. When they get attitudish, I don't even bother to tell them I have one. Let them be the way they wanna be, I'll be they way I wanna be. To hell with them. :yesnod:

I totally agree with you.
Sometimes I wonder how I come off when people tell me I have a nice car. I definitely try to be really appreciative, but you just wonder how people take you sometimes.
When somebody does that just say " Wow, man who keyed your fender?" shake your head like you feel real bad and drive away.
Then watch in your rear view mirror :lolg:
Works every time.

Re: Poor attitude (cicch95)
I have a C4 decal on the back window of my GMC truck. Hopefully when I wave at another vette they might see the sticker and notice I am a fellow traveler. From time-to-time I will see another "plastic fantastic" owner in a gas station or store parking lot. In most instances they are friendly and proud of their ride. Every once in a while I will see one thats beat up/dirty/neglected/riced out and try to avoid making eye contact. :bb

:iagree: - Don't sweat the small stuff...
Yup! :iagree: If they respond positively, fine. If not, whatever. There's snobbish people everywhere. I like to think that us 'vette owners are different but hey. I'm just glad that most CFers are super!
