Cat convertor question
I figured ide come over here and ask you C4 people on this one since yur cars are set up with more emission equipment and what not. So here goes. Can a cat convertor loose some of its ability to clean the exhaust after 150,000 miles of use? Its on my daily driver(86 pont 6000) that just failed emissions in the NO2 catagory. just barely failed. EGR is working like it should, timing set right, new plugs and filters, new oxygen sensor. Failed on the second attempt just barely again. Do you think a new cat would help? The factory original one is still on there with 150k mi. When i bang on the bottom of it I see clouds of what looks like rust dust coming from the seams. maybe just the shield rusting i dont know.
