HA 4 grand
Guy just came to look at my car, said he was looking for a vette cheap and rough around the edges! Perfect! My car wzs listed for 5750 and is a lil rough around the edges. So he comes to look at it. Drives it, looks at it. Offers me $4000!!!! so I said "Look listen my dad says i need to get over 5000" (which I do!) so I tell him "Look I want to get rid of it how about 5100, makes me happy and makes my dad happy" he says give me a call when your around 4 grand. WTF THen he tells me how the blue book value is 4 grand. YEAH WHOOOPTY S**T its KBB not god. This is what the market around her sells vettes for! Then he breaks into how EBay has em for 3 grand. I thought to my self Fine go buy one from ebay blind and see what you get . Just so fustrated with this whole process.

Your car is worth that, it is a nice car and you have taken care of it.
He should have bought it. :yesnod
I wouldnt go under $5,100 even roach cars get that much.
Although some people live by the blue book even though it tends to low ball by a few thousand.
I go by bluebook and I have always done well. I just bought a 93 with 34,000 miles for $11,900. Most buyers do use blue book so if you pay way over book you may never get it back, I learned that on the 1st Vette I bought

I was offered 12k for my '95 torch red 6 speed. Perfect condition, everything is original and low miles... The best offer I ever had was 16, which I still think is too low. I was offered 9k once. I've come to the conclusion that there are 2 kinds of corvette buyers: 1) the kind that hopes they can get lucky getting into the corvette world by paying ridiculously low, and 2) the serious buyers that eventually find their way to this forum.

What was your mileage? Mileage is always the death of you no matter if you car looks new........... nobody likes high mileage and the fact that the competition (other vette drivers) never drive their car or use it as a weekend car makes it hard if they offer their car for sale. What would you rather buy a 100,000 car or a 30,000 mile car if both cars are in same shape?

MMM I don't know how soon you have to sell.
It seems like a year now that you have been trying to sell her?
Hold out for what you think you can get. If you have to insure her and maintain her for aonther 6 months is it worth the extra $500.00 or so you may get? These are questions you have to ask yourself.
Personally I would not go lower then $5100.00 though.

Seriously though, nobody finds deals like that. A local dealer had a 93 with 30 some thousand on it, they wanted $16.9K. I tried to talk 'em down to $15, they wouldn't go for it! You really got a deal!!!

HEY, do you have to keep reminding us? :D Just kiddin.

Deals are out there, you just have to be at the right place and the right time and you never ever ever ever get a deal at a dealer. Even if the dealer gets a deal on the trade he still wants to rape you and get full price -- he never passes the deal onto the customer.
It took me a year to find the 93. If you are willing to wait you will do the same --- its not rocket science. Right place right time :)
I love to deal with people like him, for me it's not the kill, but the hunt. you ask him to give you a couple of days to think it over, then call him and tell him a couple of more days...ETC> ETC> OR tell him you could get a lot more if you sell it on ebay..one fender at a time..that will send him packing.
IF he calls back tell him no less than 5200. If he can fine one cheaper go for it. Selling a car can be frustrating when people come a round and shoot your car down to bring the price down. I try not to take it personal it just makes me more stubborn not to let them bring my price down. Good luck!
Selling a used car brings all the tire-kickers out of the woodwork. If they can ****** it from you, then they put it up on Flea-bay to make money off of your mistake.
Selling a Corvette brings out another type of individual. They don't have the financial backing to buy the car, but they want to test drive it!!!.
Selling your car requires patience and hopefully the right person will find your ad.
HoldHard

Man...You can barely buy a heavily used Civic for $4000. Any C4 that hasn't been wrecked and is drivable is worth at least $5000.
This guy that talked to Will is either on some Columbian cut crack or just thought that he could "steal" the Vette. If Will sold it for $4K the guy would have been bragging to his buddies, "Hey, I really snowballed this kid out of this Vette, only paid $4000!!!! What an idiot, didn't he know it's worth $5500!!" Have you tried the newspaper classifieds? That worked for me many times.
