Necessary Tools recommendations for C4 light maintenance
While I've got a 1996 LT1 coupe with a extended "bumper to bumper" warranty, I would like to be able to do those things not covered and which are considered routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, bulb replacement, radiator flushes, shocks, plugs, etc as well as the occasional performance bolt-on (you know, like one of those nifty air foils ). I'm not looking to replace the Optispark or upgrade to a Dana 44, or anything else that would give the dealer the slightest pretense to void the warranty. Before recently moving to Florida, I'd been pretty much car-less for the past decade (no need when you've been living in Manhattan and downtown Chicago), so as far as tools go, other than the ratchet for removing the Targa top and a few screwdrivers and hammers, I'll pretty much be starting from scratch. I did a few CF searches but most of the results had to do with specific tasks such as swapping out a cam or all the tools you'd need for every conceivable repair. Any and all suggestions as to what tools would help me take care of all the "little things" would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

If you get the Haynes manual for $15 bucks, it gives you list of tools that it deems "practical." I found it to be good. Also, check out http://www.partsamerica.com It has an awesome maintenance schedules, it tells you what you need to do each and a rough estimate on how much it is. Hope that helps.
