Is the bar flush to the ceiling, or is there a gap?
what kind of a bar is it?
there is about a 3/8" gap, i built the bar myself, it turned out great :yesnod:
and with the way that i positiones the rearward tubes, it will still allow the roof to be stored
Not sure what type of racing your doing. But I am having my bar put in this week at Neverlift in NJ.
They are professional chassis builders and heavily used by many top racers for their expertise in both chassis mods and safety equipment (cages/bars/entire frames).
I asked them about making my rear bars so I could still fit the roof. He just laughed and explained to me that for him to do that, the bar would be not legal for the drag strips. He said he will not install it if that is the way I want it, because he will not do it illegally. It really did not matter to me, as I seldomly drive the car if there is a threat of rain. So I said that was fine.
I guess what I am trying to point out, is just watch out if you get a track official that wants to get nit picky with the install you did and the locations of the bars in the rear.
Neverlift seemed to be pretty adiment about the structural integrity being comprimised with making the roof fit.
Just thought I would point that out. I know that others have it the way you do, and they race weekends with no problem. Guess I just did not want to spend 1500 bucks and still not be allowed to race. Because I know my luck, they would nail me with the rule.
Also I have been kicked off every track in a 6 hour radius for not having a bar, so I know when I return, the car will be gone over with a fine tooth comb.
Speaking of which I need to do that driveshaft loop!
