I purchased a Corvette in Bowling Green. I live in the St. Louis area and am wanting to get the Corvette to my residence without having to drive it. Any suggestions. The Corvette is in perfect condition; consequently, I want to protect the Corvette as much as possible. I do want to transport the Corvette myself. :seeya
Flat bed trailer for car hauling (rent it from Penske, Ryder or U-haul) not the dolly style purchase cover designed for car with lockable cinch (available in the forum mall). I am assuming you have a vehicle to tow the trailer or rent that too. Make sure you have insurance coverage during transport. HAPPY HAULING!
When I bought my vette last year from a guy in San Jose, CA. I contracted a hauler to deliver it to Fort Wayne, IN. I used A-1 transport and they did a real good job. It cost about $850 to delive it, it would cheaper to ship a car from Bowling Green to St Louis. I would check it out..good luck
(tjjackson NO)(,Bill evens at AAA discount auto and truck transporters Inc.NO,NO,NO).The first never refuned my deposit 200$. The Sec never called me ONCE after they had my money.I had to find out what the heck is going on.Took 5 days to find a truck and another 9days for Mid-night express to haul it 12hours or 820 miles. The mid-night express was taking so long I met the hill-billy 10 miles to the interstate truck stop so I wouldn't need to wait another week for him to find my house.BOTH are the cheepest I think I got EXACTLY what I payed 595$ for. Very POOR service. All 3 can F*** OFF and DIE.You won't hear the truth from neither tell you pay. They make it sound so good at first than all the excuse's start flowing. Pay for it and pay good,or do it yourself. And I'm sure there's worst" MABY" than these MOTHER F**K**S. :mad :banghead:
I used Classic Auto Transport, my vette was shipped from Las Vegas to my doorstep, which is in NJ in less then a week. The driver provided good communication and was polite. The cost was 900.00. Try to eliminate the middle man, you can save about $200.00.
Good Luck,
Brimis :auto:
I used www.intercitylines.com to bring my Callaway from Denver to Detroit. It took them about three weeks to complete the deal, from the initial phone call to the car delivery. Timing is everything as I missed their truck coming through the Denver area by one day.
They were very good when it came to communication. The husband & wife drivers called me several times during their trip, informing me when they would be arriving.
I just did the same thing. Bought a Corvette in Springfield, brought back to the St Louis area. If you have (or can borrow) a vehicle with a class 3 hitch, it's a piece of cake. I rented a UHaul car hauler (cost me about $65, which includes 10K insurance on the car). The vette (94) went on the trailer with no problem, just bairly touched the air dam on the bottom as it went up the ramps. Tied down the front tires with the webs. There was no provision to tie down the back, so I used my own straps and tied down each axle to a convenient spot on the trailer. Stopped every couple of hours or so and made sure the straps were still tight. Kept my speed down so the car didn't bounce too much.
Anyway, the whole process worked pretty good for me. No problems, the car got to its new home just great. Good luck!
