I've owned C-1''s C-2's C-3's and C-4's. The C-1's were short trucks, C-2's were dangerous in the rain, C-3's were smog motors, C-4's are the best so far, The C-5 is even better. In a C-4 I prefer the older ones. The L-98's.
For the money you can't beat a C-4.
I've been snobbed by every generation. But I did meet one of the nicest Corvette guys I have ever met at the Black Hills Vette Classic last month. He had an unrestored 54 that his dad bought used in 1962 for $625!!! He even had the orginal bill of sale from 62. This guy was so cool, we talked for a half hour about Vettes. But most of the owners of older Vettes don't want anything to do with the black sheep generation. Their loss.
. I find it very sad that some people have to be mean to others just to feel ok about themselves. :nonod:
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree:
I have had the pleasure of meeting Sparky at a local show. His GS is one of the finest drivers you will ever see. I can honestly say he does Vette drivers proud!
It's been my priviledge to become a Vette owner! I have found the comaraderie to be outstanding! There are however some people that don't get it and for that I feel sorry for them for they are truly missing out on the total experience. By and large these people are in the minority and should be pitied. For the rest of us it's a ...
They're all "real" Corvettes. I like each of mine for different reasons. Tthough without all the accessories (power windows, tilt wheel, a/c. etc.), I consider my '62 more of a "race" or "sports" car but those accessories sure make the '84 nicer to drive nearly everyday. :D
P.S. How were the Street Rod Nationals? It was the first one I missed in about 20 years! Had to stay home and finish up some repairs on the '84.
Oh Man, it was GOOD! 12,000 cars worth of fun! Goodies galore. GM (?) wheeled out Conan - a 1990 w/ a 650+HP v-12. I saw some LT-1's under the hoods of some street rods. Very nice! 1964, Herman's Hermits, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, and Mitch Rider were the entertainment. Lousiville spanks OKC in terms of being able to host such a big show - and I live in OKC.
Sure there are owners of C1, C2 and C3's who think that our generation of Vettes is a lesser Vette than there's is, but then again there is even some snoberry among C4 owners. I'm always reading posts about buying the newest C4 rather than an early C4 and although it may not be intended as snoberry it sometimes comes across that way. A Vette is a Vette is a Vette. I love them all and wish I hade one of each year.
:iagree:
This is the best statement yet ... midget
My experience is that the older cars owners are very nice and are very traditional. Of course, some people can be aholes because the older cars cost big $$$$$$. I think the guys that are gear heads and did the cars themselves are probably cool. Now the guys who just bought the car after the fact some may be cool but they may also tend to be aholes.
soooo what your saying is some people are aholes and some are not ok got it
