parkin light prob
a week ago i got some white parking lights put them in no prob easy saw that they where working befor i put them back in there hole and thought they where fine. well at 11 at night im behind this black truck and i noticed that my parking lights were really dim i mean really dim. then i go get some gas and play with my lights.
the parking light when its on is very dim like a low low watt bulb untill i hit the turn singal then its bright and the way its sposed to be  turn the turn singal off boom dim its like i have no parking lights on. but when i hit the singal light on its like whoa.
what is wrong is this the way its soposed to be. i thought it could be the bulb houseing or what ever you plug the bulb into but thats not it
what could be wrong im stumped. i tryed every thing i could think of any help would be great
The reason they get brighter is that when the other lights come on they supply a better ground or power.
To test for bad ground you can connect a wire to the negative battery terminal and then to the negative terminal of the bulb – be careful NOT to connect to the positive as it will can cause sparks fire explosions etc – or just blow a fuse.
Take the bulb and fitting out , switch the light on, try wiggling the bulb in the holder, if the light changes then take the bulb out and clean the contacts. You may need to use rubbing alcohol and or fine sandpaper.
If the bulb is still dim then follow the wires and see where one connects to the chassis.
There may be other Corvette related things, I’m just a newbie here so hopefully one of the experts will chip in.
Hope you get it fixed.
