Default Realizing what you have!

I recently blew my rear and was Vettless for over 3 weeks! :banghead: During those 3 weeks I didn't look forward to the weekend. :nonod: It could be sunny with no humidity & I didn't care! :smash: Why? Because I didn't have my vette.....I cant tell you how empty it made me feel to be without it. When I saw another vette on the road it would disgust me! I got my car back Thursday! I was so happy!!! Even though the weekend was gloomy I was happy...Why? Because I was able to drive my vette! Going Vettless made me appreciate my car even more than before! :yesnod: I love my car! :D Anyone else have a similar experience that opened thier eyes to how lucky they are to have such a great car?

Oh I know how it feels alright.... Its horrible.... Maybe after having it for over a year I didnt realize how much of a privolage (sp?) it is to acually own and drive your own Vette. I didnt take it forgranted at all but still..... Now that its gone for the time being..... I realize how much I really loved and miss that car.

When I see a car with a kid driving who thinks hes tough crusing around and think his car is fast.... I cant bring him to reality anymore.... Now they just look over and see a kid driving a 91 Buick Park Ave..... One day Ill be back.... :smash: :smash: :smash: One day.....

Mine goes down every couple of weeks for one reason or another, mostly mods and replacing aging stuff. While it's out of commission, my singular obsession is to get it fixed and back on the road. When it's running again, I drive it until the wheels fall off, put new wheels on it, and drive it some more.

Yesterday I drove around town for a total of probably six hours, highway, city streets, twisties, just soaking it all in. I'm sure people in point-a-to-point-b crap heaps couldn't conceive this.

Yeah I ended up bringing it back to the paint shop to get fixed, most were removed by buffing while the rest were touched up. I also replaced my front "Corvette" license plate and bought the Forced Air kit.

I have the old style "Green & White" Mass plate so I don't need to run a front plate.

Default Realizing what you have!

Eric

I TOTALLY understand what you felt. And this isn't the first time you've had the car down for what seems like an eternity.

When I sent the car to LPE to have the engine/tranny done, it left on May 4 1997 and didn't get back 'til November 4 that same year. That summer, I almost flipped out! Car shows, cruises to etown and such we're QUITE dull(and might I mention I saw a LOT of RED Vettes during that time frame) in a 200 hp mini-van. I think I put 200 miles on my car the first night I got it back, and drove it all winter that year. '97 wasn't a mild winter either....so I hear where you're coming from.

God only knows what I'll do when my car sells hehe. I think I'll be alright though.

Enjoy :hurray: :auto:  :steering:

When I was flying to Mesa, AZ for a few weeks or months work I realy missed the Vette.

I worked 10/7 so was very busy while there, but it just wasn't the same walking out to the Sebring convert in the lot after work.

I don't "miss it" when weather is bad and I drive the IROC. I guess it's just seeing it sitting there in the lot that's somehow reassuring.

The IROC is much better than driving an "econo-box" but I still need my "Corvette theropy" on a regular basis.

I've only had mine for 3 months. I miss it if there's even one day that I don't drive it. I can't imagine going weeks without it!
Dear God, please don't let anything happen to it! :blueangel:
