I friend of mine is painting my car in two weeks. He told me what I needed to buy like paint, clear coat, etc. When he was rattling these things I wasnt paying to much attention and now I am in a jam. He is out of the country for the next 2 weeks and the day after he returns my car is getting painted. I told him I would have the stuff ready. My question is what all do I need and how much of it? I am going w/ house of kolor paint so how many quarts do I need. It is a full color change, but I just need enough to do the outside b/c I am getting the jams done w/ black that he already has. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I really need to know specif stuff since I need to order it this week.
thanks
brad
When I had mine repainted (black), couple of years ago. I just left it up to the pros.
Seems like the best thing.
Now my vette is done, and done right.
Professionally done.
With guarantys.

Re: Need some paint help (BooRadley)
Just ask the paint supplier - they will know what you need. If you buy somethin he asready has then you can get a refund when you return it. Just make sure what their store's refund policy is. We will need pics after it is finished.
Need more specfics..what color is it now ??? and what color will it be?? Any body work?? What is the condition of the existing paint?? All these things make a difference.. Some colors cover better than others..If it's straight black and not a full custom color I dont recommend H.O.K...If it needs body work you need different primer than if it doesn't.. same if the current paint job needs stripped. Usually I plan on 3 quarts of color.. one gallon of base coat reducer. one gallon of clear plus recommended hardener. Thats as close as I can get ya for now.. Get more details and maybe I can tell ya more... and Yes.. I paint' em all the time.
