I was told (along time ago)that every vin number for a 96 GS vette are the same except for the last four digits(cars 0001-1000) I believe this to be true but I then got to thinking how do they distinguish between a coupe and convertible?
Also is there any other production year vette has its own identifiable string of vin numbers? Say for example a zr1
Yes the ZR-1 has its own VIN also. 1G1YZxxxxxxxx1443. The normal C4 vin is 1G1YY. The last 4 digits of the ZR-1 vin is the production number for the car.
