Latest Ecklers Flyer
hm. On the back cover there is an ad for a "new" headlight gear.
If it is new, why is it covered in grease?

F*&% Eckler's! I have been waiting for two months for an intake manifold gasket set, and today they told me the vendor they buy them from does not know when they will be available!

What's this got to do with a greasy headlight gear. In any event it seemed like a pretty good brochure to me. :steering:

Ecklers has a responsibility to serve the customers, not pass the buck. If the vendor is backordered, then they should get em somewhere else.
Of course, you could also just go to napa and buy some.
And... where's my damn Ecklers' flyer? I receieved them before I purchased, I better damn well get their crap after giving them hundreds of dollars!

They screwed me once but it won't happen again. :nono:
You can have mine. I didn't see the gear because when Ecklers catalog comes I throw it out without even looking at it.

Probably because the group doing the catalogs lost the pristine picture and needed one in a quick hurry. So they probably grabbed one that was returned to stock instead of opening a brand new one from stock and took a picture of that one.
Actually when you get a new one, the Delrin bushings do have some kind of lubricant on them which holds them in place inside the gear housing. But it was new grease and not on the gear teeth themselves. The teeth were clean.
I suppose we could jump on their case for stating "Plastic Construction" while not exactly the right word its actually Delrin. That's what the instructions say.
I'm sure lots of vendors and customers have horror stories to tell. I suppose I could rant that they took nearly a week to refund money to my account after I paid for the return of an incorrect part. But I did get the money back, eventually. Most of the folks there are pretty nice and will help. There's always a bad apple somewhere.
I think it becomes frustrating for the consumer because of some of their rigid structured rules. If management were a little more flexible they'd probably have a little better customer service. I've had my share of disappointments with them, but I still patronize their business hoping things will improve. They are pretty good about honoring their price matching guarantee, but you have to be on your toes. You have to have shopped around before hand and have the info from which they can verify in order to meet the lower price.
Just my 2-cents. :seeya

I recieved my Ecklers mini catalog today. And seen the back cover as you noted. Guess it does look used. I've always had good luck with my orders from Eckler's, and will continue to order from them, after all they are forum members.
Enough said. They have never let me down, even with the backorders. Some things can't be helped.
