A friend of mines step dad has a black 96 6 speed coupe sitting in his garage he never drives.(trying to get my friend to buy it) I swore he said it had a LT5....but I think he ment LT4. I had a 94 and it had an LS1. What did 96 vettes come with? HP? MOTOR?
96 6speeds all had LT4
rated at 330hp from GM, but actually puts out 350hp
they underrated it so as not to **** off the LS1 guys (which came out in 97 at 345hp)
An LT4 will beat an early LS1.

:iagree: ... They are Very KQQL ... something to keep ahold of ... BUT drive them!
All MN6 96's had the LT4. Conversely, all LT4 cars were 6 speeds.
HP: 330
TQ: 340
A lot of folks have come to the conclusion that they were underrated from the factory so as not to steal the thunder of the C5. After my dyno, I believe it!
factory ratings are measured at the crank
we know its ~350hp at the crank because the cars tend to dyno around 300rwhp, work backwards with a 16% drivetrain loss and you get ~350
headers add about 10-15hp, exhaust about 10, intake just a couple
on average
