Default Callaway?

I have a question about the callaway supernatural. How can you tell the difference between a actual callaway from a clone? Yesterday I seen a 94-95 vette for sale sitting at starbucks and decided to take a closer look. When I got up closer i found it had a greenwood style body kit with the word callaway where the greenwood name usually is. With closer inspection it had supernatural letters under the doors and also on the front bumper. Also it was an auto and it was too dark to tell what the interior looked like but it was very very clean. The owner was no where to be found and since i've never seen a callaway in person i was curious if it was real or not. Does anyone have any pics of these. :auto:

The Callaway Supernatural was an engine package - it was offered in the Corvettes (and other GM Vehicles) based upon either LT1, LT4 or LT5 cars in SNAT 400, 425, 435, 450, 475, and 490 hp w/ upgrades to that as well...

Each motor is uniquely identified and can be verified through Callaway Cars based upon a VIN# if it was done through Callaway (Some crate motors were sold)

The Supernaturals could be equipped w/ a wide range of options and besides the engine (which had a Callaway exhaust) you could upgrade the exhaust further, add an Aerobody, wheels, COIL suspension, interior, on & on...

For more information on Callaway Cars - check out www.callawaycars.com

or, www.callawayownersgroup.com

here is a pic of a SNAT w/ a wing added to the Callaway Aerobody...
I think this one may have been an automatic as well...

The Calloway body kits weren't available without actually buying the car were they? I thought I read somewhere that he wouldn't sell just the body kits for that reason but I might be wrong; usually am! :jester

Yes the body kits are available . They cost around $8000 for the kit . Then you have to have it put on and painted. They look SHARP :auto:

Callaway will sell the body kit by itself however, they will NOT sell a piece here, piece there unless you own one and need a replacement part :flag

Here are some Callaway Aerobodies on non- B2K or SNAT cars :steering:

Here's a fake.

When I confronted the guy. He said he only had a Callaway "exhaust" system.

Chris,

Thanks

re: the purple (may have been a black rose color) was last seen for sale at the "Salon" at Corvettes @ Carlisle back in Aug. 2000 - it has a custom gray leather interior w/ some sort of design in the trunk area - talked w/ the owner for awhile - neat car, seemed dissapointed he was selling - It was a Supernatural Engine w/ aerobody
