Re: Corvette Insurance (vettetime)
Dave,
Since you are about my age, I can tell you that the company you presently have is the place to start. I pay under $50 monthly for my 91 coupe, full coverage, $100 deduct collision from State Farm. Been with them 25 years including homeowners coverage and auto. If you don't like their rates, just make a couple of phone calls to their competitors to keep 'em honest. :yesnod:
Best place I've found has been "The Hartford" through AARP. Full coverage, $500 deductable, 487 a year, 40.58 a month. Homeowners coverage and multi-vehicle gave a small discount.
If your Vette isn't your primary transportation to work, try the three links on my web site--they're VERY low--under $200 a year UNLIMITED mileage. At least one of them requires that you keep it in a garage. If you've ever been in the military, try USAA. DON'T expect that they will EVER make good on a claim, though. I'm 38 and I pay $51 per month for super-duper full coverage with USAA but when someone hit me BETWEEN my wheels on the side of my car, USAA said it was MY FAULT!!! Hello- -my car doesn't move sideways!!!
I have used State Farm for over 20 years now. Same agent for the last 12-13 yrs. He has always been honest and fair to me. I pay $61 per month full coverage, w towing, unisured driver, rental car, etc. That is a "limited mileage" policy. (less than 7,500 miles per year. He knows me by name and I even called him today regarding the issue about what happens if I wreck the vette and when it is considered totalled, etc. He suggested that I have it appraised, but also said that it was a good thing that I keep all mod/upgrade records, receipts and numerous photos.
State Farm for the past 20 years for all my cars & toys.
Always taken good care of me  .
Make sure you check around to make sure you get a State Farm agent who is a "car guy" or "car gal" - someone who understands Corvettes and their owners. We are a strange bunch
I have had state farm for 30 years....same agent. I pay about 60 month 250 ded. but a lot of it depends on you zip code. Zip codes in Vegas could cost you about 300 a year over another one.
zip codes made all the difference. I moved recently and my insurance went up 107%. I shopped it around and i was still getting the best rates. I feel geico offers the best total packaging of price and service. I have had to use it a few times and had no problems.
Zipcode is the biggest factor. I am a 15 year state farm customer with multi-line, multi-car discounts, no accidents, $1000 deductable, and ins was $1100/year for my 91. Switched to leland-west limited use poilcy (5K/year), and down to $600/year. I can't see doing much better than that when you live on Long Island. :smash:

That's where shopping around is the ONLY way to go. I called Geico when I kept hearing the ads saying "save 15%". I called and they wanted over $100 more every 6 months ($200 total) than I was paying with The Hartford.
Thanks, Mojo. I was hoping to get a break on insurance because even though the Vette is my daily driver, I work from home and I'll put less than 5K on the car a year. Grundy wanted around $250 a year but the fine print alluded to parades and weekend jaunts and such. I suspect that as soon as these specialty guys figure out I'm making 200 twenty mile trips a year rather than 20 two hundred mile trips a year, that will be the end of those $250 per annum premiums. FWIW, I'm in South Florida, I've got 100/300K, $500 deductable and I'm paying $1400 per year through Electric Ins (GE). Both GEICO and AIG wanted over $2500 for the same coverage...
