My dad recently picked up an 89 vette all original with about 30k miles. The car is in excellent condition and has the original bose stereo, however the stereo sounds a bit weak and doesn't pick up stations that well. then a few days ago the driver's side front speaker began making a high pitch noise that would "wind" down over a couple of minutes then you would here a constant high pitch gargle. would this be a problem with the speaker amp, the original head unit, or the some connection in between? :banghead:
save your money now and dump the blows system and invest in a quaility system at a fraction of the cost!! been down your road only to end up getting a better system..and i might it add it sounds incrediable!!
I agree with the rest....I had a similar experience with the same symptoms and found it more expensive to repair. I pulled it out and replaced it with a new Eclipse, new wiring harness and speakers. It should last for a very long time.
