I recently bought a 1993 conv. and I have that annoying residue on my deck lid. I understand it is a problem on C4's. Can anyone suggest how to clean it.
Not realy sure what to clean it with, maybe claybar. Does yours have the protectors that you can laydown? You can get the clear ones that will help protect the lid.
i wax the deck lid once a week. It only takes two minutes and it removed buildup before it gets a chance to etch the surface. Dont put those protectors on. They look like @ss and they leave marks of their own. Its just a high maintenance area take the time to take care of it and it will be fine
Hey, a while back there was a post about this topic (I can't find it to save my life!), and someone replied that there is a GM part that was applied to '95-'96 convertibles that protcted the paint, and I SAW one on a '96 CE Vert at the Santa Barbara Cruise at the beginning of the month. Anyway, there is a part available at the dealer, it's about $65.00, OE, all the good things, it even looked okay on the CE I saw. Somewhere, I even printed the response that had the GM p/n, I just can't find the damned thing :banghead: Check with a dealer, there is a solution!
I found the post with the lid protector part #! I knew I had printed it, because I really hate this problem, it's a major PITA on a white car! Anyway, it's GM # 12524512, many thanks to C1C2C4 BACK ON 6/13/03! :seeya
