I am thinking about putting some wind deflectors on my mirrors in order to reduce noise and draught in the cockpit while driving (fast) :auto:
My car didn't came with this device originally so I want to take the ones made in plastic...
What do u think about this idea, is that silly or is it a good device?
Have somebody ever tried them?
Thx guys
I have them on my 1995 coupe. I think thery are great and make driving fast more comfortable with less wind hitting me in the face. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Best to buy the factory originals from a dealership and have them rivoted on. You can get a good price from Chris at Superior Chevrolet, 1-800-728-8267. I think I only paid around $30.00. I also had mine painted to match my vette but some others I have seen just left theirs black. Good luck and God bless, Paul :D :auto:
They are a great addition if your car doesn't have them. I have the factory ones on my 92 roadster and 87 coupe.
One note of caution, the plastic ones from the catalogs usually only come with tape for mounting. Don't rely on just the tape as water from repeated washing will weaken the adhesive; use 3 pop rivits or sheet metal screws to hold them in place.
The factory deflectors came in a semi-flat black color that matched the windshield trim but you can paint the plastic ones to match the car color for a different look.
Thx for answering...My 92 is black so it wouldn't be a problem for the color to match. So as I understand you advise me to take the factory ones even if my car didn't came with them... In this case is it easy to mount (holes to do or anything like that)?
Thx

I have had them on my vette for over a year now (held on by heavy-duty double-sided tape from local hardware store). They give and car a nice look and seem to be very durable. PS- Bought thru MAD.
I put them on my '92 coupe; I bought them from MAD. They came with the tape and pop rivets. I used both, the tape and the rivets. Had to drill the holes for the rivets. It's not a difficult installation, take your time. Looks good and they work.
