Ive heard....prolly from this forum about the LT1 trans am being tuned down to keep the vette top dog. I was wondering how they tune it down. Any ideas?
The exhaust was probably one reason. And I also think that the F body LT1s had iron heads, although that may have been the Impala SS that had the iron heads.
the air intake routing and the exhaust system of the F-body LT2 are the differeance.. The LT1 in the vette and the Fbody are the same (except the Fbody is two bolt and the vette four bolt). the heads, cam and all are the same..
F bodys are chocked to hell on the intake side..Thats why the best thing for an f body is exhaust and colder air intakes, its a true performer...
Plus slight computer programing and tuning all make up for the 25 hp difference...
