chip install on a 93

chip install on a 93
can anyone tell me the easiest way to install the hypertech chip into my 93 i have never done it and would like some help also will be installing a 160 degree thermo thats the easy part any help please :cheers:

Uh Oh. Most people here dislike the Hypertech and may try to talk you out of it. There are better ones on the market. However, it is a simple install and someone will be along soon with good instructions.

it takes a total of about 10 mins.
here is how i do it..
1. Disconnect batter
2. unfasten the three 10mm nuts that hold the ECM box (the bloack box under the hood near the driver side windshield) to the support bracket.
3. Do NOT disconnect the wiring from the box.. there is NO need!!!
4. Flip the box over, be careful not to pull on the wires
5. unscrew the four bolts that fasten the access plate to the main black box (this plate is about4"x2".
6. Remove the access cover and place it aside
7. ground yourself
8. rotate the tabs on boths sides of the chip outward and it will pop the chip up
9. replace with new chip. making sure to push firmly yet with equal pressure while seating the new chip. be sure no to bend any of the prongs.
10. verify the tabs have been fully rotated "in" which secure the chio
11. repeat steps 6-1 in reverse order..
