how do you prep for winter storage?
i could use some advise on a few things ive been debating.
my car will be stored in an unheated garage for 5 months.
it will get to -30 deg f. at times and will also be brought up to 60 deg f. on occasion when i warm the shop up to work on my winter rides or snowmachines.
when spring comes it will have new tires and new exhust system at least from the cats back.
its due for an oil change soon, well it has 3300 miles on the mobil 1 right now so its a little over my usual old school 3k limit but not up to the factory equipped oil life monitor yet, which probably is fine to go by anyway.
anyhow,i figured i would change the oil out the day i put her to rest for the winter so it would have fresh oil in it while sitting.
the things im wondering what you guys would do is this:
1:would you buy new tires now and have them sit or buy fresh rubber in the spring?
2:would you have new exhaust pieces put on,run them 50 miles(to get home),and then park it or would you wait for spring to have it done?
3:would you put any gas stabilizer in it?
4:is there anything else you can think of i should do for her while she hibernates? (i have a MAD cover for it and it will be inside out of the wind and snow but it will get cold in there)
appreciate any input at all

But what you have mentioned seems to sum it up. Maybe wait on the tires, but the other things definitely do.
What I've suggested in the past is to buy some extra wheels with crap tires for storage, but since you will be getting new ones after the thaw, you can just leave your old ones on.
Also get a trickle charger for the battery.
