Default Look at a C4?

Anywhere within an hours drive of Oakland, Ca. that I can look at C4s? I'd like to look at some cars to get an idea of model year differences. Used car dealerships give me the creeps and I hate to bother people who have cars for sale since I'm not quite ready to buy one.
I just want to look. Don't want to drive. Don't need to touch. Just look. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks, Kim :chevy

Used car dealers it is! I'll start walkin' lots tomorrow. I've been told that there used to be a place in Hayward, Ca. called the Vette Doctors. Does anyone know if they are still around (maybe relocated)? I checked the forum's event calendar and the Discovery Bay Corvette Summerfest in Brentwood is happening on Sept. 27th. Anyone know anything about this event?

Claws, check in your local area for a vette club, check out their next meeting or show. Should be lots of members willing to show you their C4s.

Also, check local phone book for a used vette dealer. Many big cities have them (ie Corvettes of Dallas), but C4's are getting harder to find at such dealers due to the availability and price of C5's nowadays.

A local Corvette Club wouold definately be your best bet. There would be lots of people there for you to talk to that could all have helpful opinions.

If you don't know where to start looking for clubs, most Corvette periodicals will have club listings in the back. Also, check Ecklers website... at the left toward the bottom there is a link for Corvette Clubs listed by state with contact information.

Don;t get too disappointed that not many people responded to your post right away... remember, this is a message board, not a chat room... There's no gaurantee that when you post the message there will be many people here to look at it... Give it 24 hours or so and you'll see more replies :yesnod:

Oh, and welcome!

Welcome, and don't forget to check out the Pacific Forum for local events.

A bunch of Forum members have a not quite weekly GTG in Pleasanton on Thursday nites. There's another one in the South Bay.

There is an autocross at Pac Bell Park this Saturday and another in Marina (near Monterey) next Sunday. Many C4's. No charge for spectators.

The Corvette Black Book is a great resource for year to year changes. http://www.corvetteblackbook.com/

ps - I used to live in Oakland! :seeya

Thanks for the reply, Chaos. When is your next Thurs. night get to gether in Pleasanton? I'd like to meet some forum members if that would be cool with you all. I might try to make the autocross at Pac Bell on Sat. Any more info on that event, like time and what part of the park would be appreciated.
I looked at some of the local club websites. You have to own a Vette to join. I'll email some folks and see if they might let me stop by at an event or two.

Thanks again, Kim :chevy
