Hi Everyone,
Looking for a 'little' part, part number! What I need to find is the part number for the 'Fuel Gauge Button", on a 1996. It's just the button that I need, it kept popping off, and now it is no where to be found! I looked under C4 restoration, but they just have 89 and older parts, and did not even have a button for even an older vette. I'm thinking I can order it through GM Parts, but need the part number, anyone know what it is? Or how I can find the part number?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
I'm going to try to explain the 'button' that I'm looking for. It's the button that tells you about your fuel, it's the set of gauge buttons that are to the left of the air/heat controls. It's the one, that when you press them, you can get your coolant temp, engine oil temp, pressure, FUEL information, milage, and when you press these buttons the info comes up on the instrument cluster. The area I'm talking about may also be called the Trip monitor control area. Does this help you? I need the button that says "fuel" on it. I hope you can get me a part number for this little button, really appreciate any help. Thanks, Cindy
Hi Cindy, try http://www.jdcorvette.com. It's a Corvette salvage yard (new and used parts). That's probably your best bet. They have a toll free number listed on the web site. I doubt that GM has such an animal in stock, but if you want to give it a try, go to your local Chev Dealer parts dept. IF you have patience and IF the parts guy is sympathetic and IF he will take the time to look it up, you might get lucky. I had a heck of a time getting them to order some simple rubber bumpers for the hatch! My guess is that they don't want to mess with anything unless it has a big profit margin.
