I have a 3 inch long crack in my rear bumper, and wondering if there is a glue and/or filler that I can mix in and then sand out to repair it. The rear bumper is a fiberglass alternative (not sure what the body shop said that it was, but they said it wasnt actually fiberglass, but a common substitute for the vette fiberglass bumper) Is there any kit available to repair this crack? Thanks!
I have a 3 " dig on one side and a 2" dig on the other mechanic shut the garage door on my Vette and the garage door put two verticle digs/scratches/gouges in the lower rear bumper. :mad
Actually, me car needs a new paint job anyway, so when he told me to make him an offer, I said let's call it even. My car was in for new U joints and a rear wheel bearing. Not a bad deal: $400 + of work for two scratches! :D
Are you talking about Urethane? It's really flexible? That is what came stock on the C4's...if that is the case, you can probably make a temp repair using some fiberglass on the back of the cut. In my opino though, it will never be right. I have not heard of a Urethane repair kit that actually works...but maybe someone can chime in that has found one. Good luck!
I used a two part urethane filler (don't have name right now) to blend in my license plate filler on the front bumper, it has held up so far (5 months)
It is tough to work with, it does not sand easily, but does the job.
Thanks all. Yea I believe thats what the body shop called the bumper material (urethane). At least I know that theres a filler I can buy to make such a repair. Thanks again.
