I usually wash and wax mine about every other week. I've used Liquid glass, which I liked. I currently use Zaino. Been doing it for about 3 yrs and it looks as good if not better than it did when I bought it.
You don't want to wax too frequently. Wax is different then polymers.
Reason being you take off alittle paint each time, either clearcoat and or or basecoat if you have no clearcoat.
It all depends on the thickness of your paint. Some cars have alot of paint other cars are "thin" on paint especially if it has been wet sanded before.
A machine can tell you the thickness of your paint.
I wouldn't wax more then once every 3 months with traditional wax.
In reality unless you live in harsh climate like Florida, a good coat of wax should last about 6 months anyway.
Try some other products as well. I used to love Meguirs and Pinnacle Souvereign but now I love Zaino.
I wash my vette every week. I polish it one week & wax it the next. Not sure if that is optimal, but I am too lazy to wash/polish/wax all in one day, most of the time.

Why are you polishing a newly painted car? Do you have scratches to remove?
If it's a straight carnuba wax, you can wax it everyday and it won't harm the finish of the car. If it's a "cleaner" wax, it most likely has chemicals or abrasives in it to remove some light scratches and oxidation. If it's a polish, it has fine abrasives in it, meant to soften the edges of scratches and swirls so they don't stand out as much. A glaze has oils in it that act as "fillers" for scratches and make them less visible.
Hi vett432! I don't think it will hurt because you are using the Gold Class Clear Coat Wax. I use that at it works really well. I believe most of the pure wax out there is really good if they are for clearcoat paint and nowadays most of them are but always check! I just wax 2 or maybe 3 times a year all my cars. Spring maybe middle of summer and of course fall. Spring and fall because in the north here we have salt. I'm sure the acid rain plays a part too! The Corvette doesn't see the rain or snow so I use the Meguair's Gold Class only. The other cars see everything so I use Nu Finish. Waxing only shouldn't hurt because that is all you are doing and it does make it stand out.
