Does anyone know if there is a retail outlet(Checker auto, Auotzone, Carqwest etc) that carries 'Mothers' waxing, clay bar products? Also, and this is very naive, what is the difference between waxing and polishing? Which one do you first? Any answers appreciated

The clay bar will remove contaminants from the paint, similar to, but better than a paint cleansing liquid. Polishing adds depth and reflectivity and will help hide minor imperfections.

Got mine at Discount Auto Parts (now Advance Auto Parts). For top line cleaners check out http://www.grottsgarage.com. They have some great stuff! A little pricy, but well worth it.

Polish cleans and helps with shine while waxing protects. However, most products do both. Clay, whether Mother's , McQuires or Zaino, takes contaiminants off the clear coat giving a better shine when you wax. I'm impressed with the Zaino line of products.
