LT1?

I have a 92 black 6 speed.I know this might be a silly question but how do i know if i have a LT1.I read somewhere LT1's where mated only to auto tranny's .I also read it was first introduced in 92.Was the LT1 considered the standard engine package or was it an option upgrade.(excuse the vette ignorance.....i'm still learning) :flag

The 1992 Corvette came with the standard engine, an LT1. Keep active on the forum and you will learn an awful lot about your Vette. BTW, welcome!

LT1 was first available in 1992. The LT1 was mated to only auto cars in 1996, the 6 speed cars got the LT4

There were two engines in 92. But there would be no question if you had the other one (LT-5) the ZR-1 package. :flag :flag :flag

LT1 is the standard engine. The Option was the LT5 (ZR-1) group. You will also see it under the arm rest lid as an RPO code of LT1.
