1985 expected ET's?
What can I expect from 1985 Z-51, 3.07 rear, 4+3 basically stock with muffler eliminators? Vehicle has 38,000 miles. How to launch, what RPM to shift at? Thinking of taking it to the track to see what it will do, on street tires. Don't want use drag radials or slicks which would put pressure on the driveline. Probaly will run 8 degrees initial advance. Any advice?

Ive seen people with a stock setup get low/mid 14s, and ive seen a couple break into the high 13s.
Launch technique vary from person to person, you just have to practice that stuff.

For your first time out I expect you will get low 14s in decent weather with low 2.0x sec 60' times.
Try around 30psi with street tires and do a little dry burn out to clean the tires.
Launch technique will indeed determine the ET. With practice, a sticky track and good weather those 3.07 gears should put you in the high 13s.
