Well, I just finished "gluing" a set of MAD wind deflectors onto the mirrors of my 35th and took her for a spin at 65mph.
I can't realy say that there was a marked improvement in that left ear wind blast. It may have been a subjective thing, but there seemed to be some reduction of noise/wind.
So I think I'll pop rivet em into place anyway; since the original black finish looks ok to me I won't paint them at this time.
I was having trouble keeping them black here in the Dallas sun. I finally tried using the Meguires tire shine them. Rubbed it in real good, took off the excess, and they've stayed black for a month now. Usually they would almost be white by now.
I have had mine on for 14 months now. I never pop-rivetted them in place. I just went to Ace Hardware & bought heavy-duty double-sided tape. They have remained solidly in place through washes, rain, etc. They don't look bad either. :)
