Does it really matter who's car is faster? When a basically stock L-98 will scare the hell out of 150 on the top end you know that if you run long enough you will be out in front. One car can't be the best at everything, but I know that overall I am driving one of the best cars ever built. It goes fast, handles well, gets good mileage, and looks pretty damn good. And, I don't remember many people saying 'You have a (put name of other car here)' like they do when they find out you drive a Vette. Well, mabye a black horse gets the same attention, but how many of those do you see around.

I hate to break the news to you but you add a tach in an automatic 1.6 litre and a fart tip... whew, what can I say?? .. add the subwoofer and it's good for a low 18 second time....

I think the best bumper sticker I've ever read was something to the effect of "my car's lugnuts requires more torque than your car produces...."

I had one of these clowns pull up next to me not long ago and flipped me crap about how nasty my engine sounded (with cam loping and all). I simply hollered back, "I know, I know, the carburetor is way out of adjustment" (it's a modded '96), and went on about my business.

Jay if they own a rice grinder here is how I handle them. I ask him how much torque does his car make when he tells me I just reply hell I torque my lug nuts to more than that. :chevy :seeya

See, That just goes to show you the reputation that the CORVETTE has. Right? They have the reputation of being fast, so people think that they have to prove to us that thier pc of sh%$, car is faster than ours,,, we know it isnt,,, dont we.... There are few cars on the road that can hit 150 mph. So, let them keep on dreaming that they are faster, quicker or what ever they think.... I deal with it everyday at work, all these guys have mustang GT's, cobras, 6 cyl mustangs, ricers,, and oh yeah a 3000GT twin turbo car,,it runs a 14.3 ,, they all ask me all the time when you gonna bring bring that slow butt vette out and give me a run,,,,,, all I say is when you gonna get it out of the shop.....

The best one I've had was the young proud guy in his ricer that pulled up next to me one day gunned the motor. I was in my Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, 4x4 V8 (4.7) 5 sp. He must've heard my dual exhaust. I looked over and he jumped it a little. Light changed and I was gone. About 2 weeks later same thing, only this time I'm in the vette. I looked over said no thanks. He said chicken. I said I already beat you. He said when. I said last week in a Dodge Dakota 4x4. He rolled up the window, stuck his tail between his legs and limped away with a look on his face like a brick hit him in the ba&&. :hurray: :hurray:

Why does it matter what other people think? I bought my 86 coupe for me to enjoy. I could care less if some mustang driver or rice burner thinks their car is faster or whatever. I just don't care . I just like to drive that vette down the road and listen to the rumble. Man it just doesn't get any better than that! I have nothing to prove and no one to impress.
