Default Trailering

Could someone tell me where the factory tie down points are on the frame of a C4. Also, what hooks, straps etc. do you use. Any special tips?
Thanks :seeya

Default Re: Trailering (newZR1)

I trailer my car to the track all the time. Yesterday for that matter.
On my 88 there are factory "eyelets" on the frame that I hook into.
These are located on the frame, just behind the front control arms in the front and in front of the IRS in the rear. (If you look behind each wheel, you should see them)
Only certain size hooks will fit in those eyelets, so if you rent a trailer with tie downs make sure the hooks will fit.
You may eventually buy a trailer and get your own tie downs.
Several years ago I had four "pigtails" made.
These were 18" long chains with hooks on each end.
That way, no matter what trailer, flatbed, carrier, I used, their tie downs would hook into my Pigtails that I know will fit my factory eyelets.
Just a tip, use 10,000 lb straps if you can.
Good luck. :seeya
