so there I was on the side of the road scratching my head going :banghead: :cuss I was driving along in the vette going to church of all places on a sunday. unfortunalty this takes me through a pretty bad raod. actually that's an understatment, there are more holes in the street than even road. I hear a loud bang, some metal and it all got quiet. then I started to heard a metal clinking sound.
pulled over right away and check under the hood. my shock broke! I don't mean it was bad, i mean it actually snaped. the rod snapped right at the top.
and since it was dark in the wrong side of town, somewhere south of downtown Ft worth if figured i could limp home.
so i ripped some wire of something and tied it to the a-arm. slowly drove home. and parked it.
had to do the evil this morning and take it to pepboys and put on a cheap pair of shocks up front. could risk the other one snapping off too. I also had my IAS rear shock installed while i was there. still waitng on my fronts that are on back order. seems like everything i ordered this month has been that way.
anyways moral of the story, don't just check to see if the shocks go up and down but also what condition the actual shock is in.
