After carefully reviewing the photos of the 86 L98 engine room, I noticed the the rocker covers are different from my L98. Mine are held down by four bolts on the gasket perimeter ala most mouse motors. I have the iron heads. The example on eBay shows rocker covers held down with four bolts inline through the cover center line.
Big question!!!! Are these the L98 aluminum heads?

Midway through the '86 production run, GM switched to an aluminum head on the L98's.
So... your vette is an early '86, while that one is a late '86.
