when weather permits... and here in the Northeast... not frequently enough.
2. How often if ever do you use a power buffer
to remove. I am lazy.
3. How often if ever do you detail your engine Compartment
several times a year. I hate a dirty motor.
4. Do you ever take your wheels/tires off to clean the wheel wells and suspension, etc.? ... If so how often.
whenever I have the wheels off for maintenance.
Thanks!
yer welcome!
2. Use orb buffer every time
3. Every couple of car washes
4. Fender wheels every car wash, other parts are on the list off to do.
With winter coming and no real projects maybe a complete cleaning :steering:

BEFORE EVERY USE
2. How often if ever do you use a power buffer
NEVER
3. How often if ever do you detail your engine Compartment
AFTER EVERY USE

WHEN EVER I GET CAUGHT IN THE RAIN.

2 I do not use a rotary buffer, too easy to cut the paint with one. I use a random orbital buffer, similar to the one available from Porter Cable. I use it to apply as well as remove.
3 Whenever it gets dirty. Since I have an L98, I just spray it down with a product called Orange Blast. It's a citrus degreaser that works extremely well, much better than simple green.
4 I have found that you really don't need to remove the wheels to detail the wheelwells and suspension. Most of the parts that can be seen with the hood up and wheels on can be reached with the wheels in place. Again a spray of orange blast and a wipedown does the trick. For the wheel wells, spray them down with a heavy stream of water, then apply some foaming tire shine product, and it works great. They have that nice black look we're all looking for. Same goes for the engine bay. After you have degreased the engine bay, spray it down with foaming tire shine, close the hood and go for a ride. Going for the ride will evaporate most of the product, but leave you with a nice matte black look. I even use the tire shine on the underside of the hood before a wash(so that any overspray is removed in the wash) and it leaves it looking great.
Hope this helps you decide what you want to do.
Everytime he washes it (Saturdays).
2. How often if ever do you use a power buffer
Yes, just once. But his bruises weren't visble and he told everyone the limp was because he fell off the swing!
3. How often if ever do you detail your engine Compartment
Before I turn wenches in there.
4. Do you ever take your wheels/tires off to clean the wheel wells and suspension, etc.? ... If so how often.
And the back of the wheels...when time permits or the buildup becomes unbearable.
Thanks!
You're most welcome!:seeya

WHEN EVER I GET CAUGHT IN THE RAIN.
 :iagree: If I do one a week I still never get caught up...
And I wash it when it looks pretty dirty.
The wheel wells get a good spray down when I wash it.
Engine compartment gets worked on so often that its not worth it.
I BOUGHT MY CAR TO DRIVE IT NOT TO WAX IT :yesnod: :yesnod:
1- I just changed over to the Zaino Products. So now waxing is easy and fast. I guess I put a coat on about once a month or so, but my Vette doesn't see rain.
2-Power buffer- when I first got it (4 years ago), the finish had roughness and bad water spots. I used Mequire's body scrub with a power buffer to bring bac the shine and smoothness. No need anymore.
3-I detailed my engine when I had it apart and now just before shows.
4- I'll take the wheels off and polish the aluminum arms and clean the wells before shows, if it's a big one. Once you have everything clean, it's pretty easy to keep it up.
Let's see, again, retired rock star; don't you guys hire someone to do that stuff? :skep:
