I recently purchased a 1996 Coupe and the PKE fobs are in poor shape. I have changed batteries and re-programmed them and they function perfectly. Is there a source for just the plastic case? I see that you can purchase the whole thing from GM and there are several units on eBay - but I wanted to avoid some cost.
Thanks,
Larry
If they just won't stay closed get some black multi-purpose tie wraps from Home Depot. Wrap 'em, lock 'em tight, cut off the excess tie. They work great and are barely noticable.
They also come in handy for loose wiring harnesses under the hood.

Re: PKE Remote Case (LJBest)
Have never seen just the empty case offered anywhere.
Perhaps this would be a good excuse to drop several thousand dollars on CNC-machined cases. In titanium........?
You'll be the talk of the next Corvette Cruze you go on!
:D
That is an EXCELLENT idea. I wonder if I had my machinist machine some cases in say polished aluminum, if everyone would buy them. That is a great idea. I'm going to check into it.
As far as the cases, good luck. When I bought my '95, the battery was dead in one of the controllers. I walked into a store to buy a new battery and as I did, I accidently dropped my remote. It shattered in pieces when it hit the ground beyond repair. I had to order a new one (since I couldn't find an aftermarket one for a convertible) for 107.00 My first expense since buying the car, I knew then what I was getting into...LOL.
The funny thing is, right after that, I replaced the carpet and found a second remote under the seat...DOH.
