Default [pics] Cleaned up the engine compartment

Nothin' special, just cleaned up my '95's engine room a bit. Rinsed the car off, too, while I was at it. Opti-aware cleaning method used! :yesnod:

What's your method for keeping the opti dry? Fear of getting it wet is what keeps me from cleaning my engine. Yours looks super!

Looks really good. What precautions do you use to protect the opti from getting wet?
Did you get it all wet or just certain areas?

Well it was pretty clean to begin with, the engine, but what I do is use one of those little fittings for the end of the hose that is like an extension but with a thumb blck on it to shut off flow. I set a slow low pressure flow, just slightly more than dribbling. I make sure the opti has rags stuffed all over on tp, sides anywhere I can get them. I mist down a small area with Greased Lightning Orange Blast (better than Simple Green...), wipe it around or brush it lightly if needed, then let the weak stream of water gently rinse it. I tend to stay clear of the opti area, choosing to use a damp rag and/or brush in that vicinity if necessary and wipe dry with a drying cloth. I blot up any pools, and then take her for an extended operating temperature drive to throughly get rid of residual moisture. Works every time, but is kind of a slow method.

What's your method for keeping the opti dry? Fear of getting it wet is what keeps me from cleaning my engine. Yours looks super!
