The unknown Cable

Question?? I was changing the 3rd brake light bulbs the other day and I found a Co-Ax cable up there that is not plugged into anything...... It looks exactly like a TV cable. I didnt bother to back track it.. Does anyone have a clue on what it could be and is it suppose to be there

Are you the original owner of the car? I know about 10 years back, when hardwired analog car phones were popular, that coax cable was used to link the cel phone to the antenna mounted on the rear window. The coax was run along the doorjamb, much like a stereo install. I don't believe a coax cable in a Corvette was factory. Typically phones were installed by aftermarket companies and such.

I have one too. Mine is in the storage box behing the passenger seat! No clue as to what it is.
