Default Keyed last night

Took the wife on a date last night and ha dthe passenger side keyed at First Colony AMC.

Not too upset. Just hate to give the car to anyone to have it painted. I just don't trust people.

Anybody know of a good trustwoorthy shop to have it fixed at. I will call insurance company tomorrow.

Ron

IF you got the ballz to take some sandpaper to your paint...you CAN fix deep scratches yourself. I had a 24" scratch into the fiberglass on the drivers rear quarterpanel, and was taught how to prep the scratch, fill the scratch with touchup paint, then sand and polish it to the point to where i'm the only one that can see it (even when i point it out). And it works GREAT on BLACK cars!!!!! :D

Earlier this morning i submitted the detailed procedure as a C4 TechTip, but it hasn't been posted yet. If you want, i can email you the post to see if it's something you want to try.

Yo Jim, you're keeping secrets from us. You'll have to show me your fix.

Yes, I'd like to learn this technique also. I have a 24" long key scratch that I tried to touch up but it looks like crap. :U

Thanks

No problem. Like i mentioned in a previous post, i submitted the detailed procedure earlier this morning as a TechTip, so it SHOULD be posted (in C4 Tech Tips) as soon as it's reviewed by the powers that be....and it DOES work! Guess Strick's comment is testimonial to THAT since we've parked side by side at meetings and shows NUMEROUS times, an' he didn't know about the "repair". :D

Ok, call me a noob (cause that's what I am), but I don't see a "Tech/Tips" section on the forums. I see a "Tech/Performance" section, please point me in the right direction. Help me I'm lost. I don't know where I am.

I have my sand paper in hand and I'm ready to go!

Thanks,

"You know what some fu**er did to it the other day?
What?
Fu**in' keyed it.
Oh man, that's f***ed up.
Tell me about it. I had the thing in storage three years. It's out five fu**in' days -- five days, and some dic*less piece of poopie fu**s with it.
They should be fu**in' killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution."

its always extremely irritating to know there are jerks out there who insist on destroying others people's property :mad sorry to learn of your misfortune, the good news is there are repuatble shops out there who do very good work. check into this carefully and you'll be glad you did. the key is top-notch prep work and of course paint & materials, and they are real good at blending (any good shop should well be), then you'll no doubt be very satisfied with the results and it should hold up indefinitely. good luck!
