I went to replace the center section of my air dam earlier this week and found that the skid plates were bent, they're scuffed too!. The new section would not fit without cutting and I didn't want to do that! Well anyway I ordered two new (skid plates) ones and got them in today.
Now in order to change them must the whole nose of the car be taken off? Can you get at them by taking off the front Corvette plate? I can get at the back bolts but I don't see how to get inside for the rest, if there are any and there must be a way to pull them out.
Has anyone ever replaced these before?
I have a Shop manual and a Parts manual on order but didn't recieve them yet.
Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated!
Got my Service Manual today!
Looks like the whole nose has to come off to replace those skid plates! Not a 15 minute job!
Welcome to my world. I always say "Man I can't do that to it!" And instead of taking the easy way out, I drop the front bumper or remove the rear half shaft or take out the ENTIRE interior or ...... :smash:
Since my car is going back to the dealer tomorrow for some warranty work, I put the old one back on, and I cut it to fit! Since I have to take the nose of this to rplace those skids, I'm going to replace and clean everything while it's apart! Going to do it right the first time
