Has anyone had a problem with their clearcoat. I have noticed that on the rear around the corvette letters there are areas in which the claercoat seems to be flaking off. It has gotten worse over the past two weeks. Anything I can do to stop it?. Can it be redone? Is it expensive?
Thanks
Question 1: OH MAN!!
Question 2: Nope
Question 3:Yep
Question 4: See answer to Question 3
 But really, it is very common. A good paint shop can lightly sand and respray. However, there is nothing cheap when it comes to vettes. If you don't pay in $ you'll pay in blood sweat and tears.
Once the clearcoat starts peeling, you cannot really stop it. The only way to fix it, is to repaint the panel, but eventually the entire car will end up peeling.
Expensive is a personal thing. If you cannot do it yourself, then take it to several body shops and get estimates on panel repair and a total paint job.
