i put 32 sq ft of dynamat extreme in the front of my car the other day. this stuff is designed to keep out sound and heat, and it seems to do a REALLY good job! i pulled out the entire front interior, and lined the whole front of the car from firewall back to the top of the vertical portion behind the seats and all the way up over the trans tunnel. i then put all of the original stuff back in and it is AWESOME!! 32 sq.ft. is almost exact amount that i needed too.
it made a HUGE difference. now the car really sounds and feels like it is buttoned up tight, almost like when you go test drive a brand new high-end luxury car. i didn't put any of this stuff in the back cargo area, so there is still plenty of exhaust noise that comes thru from back there but at least now that is pretty much all i can hear.
this stuff is so thin that everything goes back into place easily, too!
it took most of the afternoon but it was worth it!
i have some pictures if anybody is interested.

Re: soundproofed my interior (Ramrod92)
try http://www.eastwoodcompany.com I used their sound and heat insulation this summer in my coupe. I used three rolls....it worked very nicely and did the job for under $60. Their item number is 52142 and each roll sells for $17.99
i got it for $200 from summit. don't know if that was a great price or not. didn't even bother to shop around.
i'll post the pics as soon as i get a chance.
i think it was about 25-30 lbs. i didn't weigh the box before and after or anything like that, but it wasn't all that heavy. i personally think the difference it made in the interior sound levels is worth whatever slight difference in performance 30lbs of static weight would cause.
i don't know for sure, but i would guess that rhino liners are too thick and would make it difficult to put the interior back in. anybody else know for sure?

Cool, I'll have to check into that then, I thought it would be alot heavier, I have worked with it before in small quantities and it always fealt HEAVY for it's size, so I was picturing that much to weigh alot more. I may have to follow your lead on this one!!!
:hurray:
Hope this is not too silly of a question, but did you install that stuff shiny side down or shiny side up? And did you go with just one layer or two layers?
