I am looking for some more input from the experts again.
I have been getting some static from people about what I paid for my 92 vette and I wanted to get some professional opinions. I don't know if these people are jealous, maybe they are looking at what I can sell it for, don't understand the feeling of owning one, or are making sense. Here is some info on the vette, and maybe get some numbers from you.
1992 Vette - 96,000
LTI
Leather
Bose radio/CD
New Tires
Selective Ride Control
Insulated body color roof panel
Not sure what you paid for it but I just bought a '95 convertible for 11000. Though the mileage was high (138K), it had brand new tires, a paint job less than a year old and a new convertible top.
Loan on it (including the deduction for the mileage) was over $17K, I would think that a '93 is still worth 12-15K.
I'm sure someone a little more up on current prices can verify that for you but I'm sure it's in the ballpark.
You didn't say what overall condition (paint, interior, engine and drivetrain)the car is in and that will have a lot to do with price. And then some people will pay whatever the sticker is just to have a Vette.
Vette Magazine publishes a "price guide" each year in May and this year they listed 92 coupes with A4's from $11.5K to $17.5K, 6-spds from $12K to $18K.
(92 A4 roadsters were shown as $12.5K to $19.5 and 6-spds from $13K to $20K. These price ranges (from "Average" to "Excellent") seemed to be a bit high to me, but I have always figured that prices of Vettes went up as the summer approached and dropped in the fall. I really don't know how much the Vette Magazine article has to do with setting "real world" prices.
If you shop at dealers for used Vettes, you would probalby find prices in this range if not higher. Private party sales may not always be a real indicator of accurate pricing as there are too many variables with private party sales. People need money, just got a big ticket, tired of the car, something expensive repair is needed or such.
Between $10K-$12.5 for 1992 with 70-9X K miles. I've been looking for a while and that is pretty much what i've found.
I have seen for some reason when you hit 100K miles that extra digit makes it resale for alot less and/or harder to resale. It's crazy because there really is no difference between 95K and 100K really.
I bough a 91 vert about 18 months ago in near mint shape with over 80,000 miles on it for 13,500 from a dealer. I thought and still do think it was a good price. Moving forward a year makes your 92 like my 91 was a little over a year ago. Assuming it is in excellent shap i would say 13-14 grand.
Thanks for some insight. The condition of vehicle, in my opinion is good to excellent. The bigest I swore is the paint, which is a canary yellow, which was not a color for 92. The interior is fair to good, about as good as a 92 would be. I have no intention of every selling, unless it becomes a necessity, so I guess I will let these people keep talking there smack since many don't have a clue. Thanks for all your inputs.
I though it said 92 vert. The price i gave as being what i though reasonable was for a convertable. For a coupe in identical contion i would take off 1500-2000 dollars bring you to 11-12.5, JMHO.
Well, so far I have not seen the price I had paid, so I guess that is a good thing. I will be honest and say I didn't pay over $9500. So, all the non-vette owners who are just jealous, can keep talking. I would take the words from vette owners over non-owners anytime. Thanks.
1992 Corvette, it all depends on where you live and the condition of the car.
Dealers are asking $15k to 18k for a 96 coupe here.
92 coupes can be had for $10k. The average price is $12k. Converts are $1k more. You'll always pay more at a dealer.
Every once in a while a forum member will get all the money for his car.
If you like the car and paid $12 to $14 thats average, and you'll love the car.

Goodfella - I just purchased my first Vette last week. It is a 1992, White, auto, with glass targa top. The car was a 2 owner and was only driven on nice days. It was stored in a climate controlled garage and is in good shape. The car has 51,500 miles on it and I paid $10,300 for it. Hope this helps!

Goodfella, I paid $11k from a private party 6 months ago for my '90 L98 with 60k miles. Seller was asking $12k. Did I pay too much anyway? Probably - by about maybe $1k. Do I care? Absolutely not...its in primo condition all around and everything about it was exactly what I've been yearning about for a long time. I drove 10 hours to/from get her, you I guess you could say I was motivated because there simply was nothing locally I was after.
I don't know what you paid for your '92, but if you're happy with it, a few dollars one way or the other is neither here or there. Ignore the fools who are simply jealous (sounds like they might be) Congratulations, enjoy your new ride!
Hi,
I recently purchased a 94 coupe with smoked top and solid painted top. The exterior is in excellent condition. The interior has only minor wear and it has 84,000 miles on it for 14,000. I may not have gotten the best deal but I love the car and that is really all that matters to me. :)

Re: 92 Vette Mistake? (Goodfella)
In February I bought a 92 with 14,300 miles on it. It is a PERFECT car without a single ding, nick or scratch. The previous owner put a $3000 Alpine sound system in it, Brand new Goodyears, both Tops and all new weatherstripping.
Looks like it was bought new last week!
