Default which color?

the paint of my vette is in a bad quality. i repainted some parts, but the paint looks a little different to the other parts...
so i want to repaint it complete.
the color right now is the factory color, but i think about paint it black, and maybe i will replace the carpet (saddle) to red.

what do you recommend? what would you do?

I would paint it the same color, as it will retain it's value.

I would paint it the color that you wish to see it in. If Black is what you like, then a Black Vette will probably be seen in your future. It is all about the enjoyment we receive from having such beautiful cars. I hope you enjoy yours to the fullest.

If you are going to keep it, paint whatever color you want. If you expect to sell it, many (but not all) buyers will want the original color.

I personally like the color combo on your car I wouldn't change it. But I have to admit black would be my second choice.

Oh and personal opinion, leave the interior alone.

Default which color?

I'd have to say think about it long and hard first.

A color change THE RIGHT WAY requires a LOT of dis-assembly to insure those areas you don't usually see don't have the original color. Luckily the engine bay area is easy to work around, the doors come right off and the back window does too.

If you're to keep it the original color, I wouldn't worry about doing the jambs, etc. If you are considering a color change, I have pics of my car all stripped down. We did mine the right way.

Just a guestimate, you're prolly looking at $3500+ either way you do it.

The easiest would be to repaint it with the original color. Or you could do the Grand Sport treatment with the original color and a silver stripe down the middle and black Grand Sport wheels. (Uf) Widerleuge :seeya

The Black will require more upkeep especially with the snow you have there.

I agree with JAY 383 that the correct way is the only way to change the color.

i would go to a swiss corvette specialized company to let it repaint (nyfeneggerag.com).
i modified the color of other pics of my vette to blue and green, blue look good too...but red isn't bad too...it's very hard to decide for me...i'm thinking about it a year long...
ok, where i live we don't have much of snow, only a few days per winter season and i don't go up the mountains with my vette.

what did you meen exactly with the more upkeep with the black color?

Paint it DRM again. It is one of the best lookng colors IMO. And that way if the door jams and engine bay are still in good shape you won't need to take the car apart to paint it.
