Headlight upgrade?? Anyone done this?
Looking through the Mid-america catalog this week and was wondering if anyone had done the headlight mod where you replace the big sealed beams we have now to the small halogen bulbs like on the newer cars. It looks like they give you a plactic bezel and the halogen or zenon bulbs.
Thanks for any feedback and opinions.

Have them on mine. I like them. Converts the bulbs from the 6054's to H4's. The housings are also lighter than the glass 6054's so less work for the motor. Trying to find the plastic 6054's is a pain. Now, if a bulb goes out, I just pick up an H4 and pop it in. Right now I have the brightest ones in I could find. I see a lot better and oncoming traffic doesn't seem to mind.

How much of a pain to convert them over. The kit did not seem to have much in it. It does not look that hard.
Thanks for the response

EASY! Just take out the 6054, put the H4 in the housing and plug it back in like the 6054. It is just as easy as replacing the factory bulb.

Kit was a breeze to install - 30 minutes to remove all old lights, and 40 min total to install, no cutting, perfect fit.. but took about an hr to adjust beam,,, you have to raise hood, do adjustments, lower hood and check, then repeat till you get them right... that was the only issue...

conversion was a breeze, everything fit with no modifications. 20 min to remove old lite assy's, 40 min to install new...
I did the H4 conversion as well. I love it. I'm currently using 55/65 (I think) Xenon bulbs, but I think I'll go to 90/100W when I get home. The only issue I had was that I had to take tin snips to the metal at the rear part of the housing and trim the hole a little larger to fit the new H4 headlight housing in. Other than that, it was a snap.
Oh yeah, I didn't get the kit from MAD. I got it at a Advanced Auto Parts, so the MAD kit may not require the trimming.
