Is this common
i wash my 94 vette and by the time i get to work..(8 miles) the back is filthy and the tail lights are filled with dust/fine dirt.. i havnt seen it mentioned in here at all and is this a common thing or is it due to my exhaust pipe extensions that are on the car.......is there a way to solve this problem or is this just "one of those vette " things
thanks
jack

Re: Is this common (gsxrjack)
Yes, it's a function of the abrupt back end. The air does not flow around its azz cleanly. Turbulence is formed and the air kicks the dirt back.
If you think the Vette is bad, you should see my SUV.

Yes, happens to my corvette also. Have you tried the California Duster? Works great on dust. :seeya oh, and always carry a hand held swiffer inside, for dash dust. I don't like dust! :boxing

Yep, it happens all the time :yesnod:
The tail lights enclosures are big time dust collectors, and that's just while sitting in the garage

Re: Is this common (Xander)
Get a California Duster! They sell 2 versions--full size and mini. Get one to keep in the car and dust off when you get to work. It takes about 1 minute to dust the whole car. I dust mine daily between washings and the dusters work better the dirtier they get. Just keep it off the windows.

Re: Is this common (USAsOnlyWay)
I was about to say it looks worse on black/dark colors. I think black is the hardest color to keep clean. Then again, never owned a white car so I can't say for sure.

You just shake it out. According to the instructions the dirtier they get the better they work. I may be wrong, but I don't remember anything about washing them. They do contain some type of wax to attract dust. Washing them may remove this.
