Help Determine Worth **Updated Now With Link to Pics**
Since a majority of them are the C4's I figured I'd post them in here. My dad has a collection of vettes that he's put me to find out what they are worth. So hopefully people here with their vast knowledge will be able to help. All are really low miles some never really driven.
1. 98 Pace Car 13 Miles on it
2. 96 Grand Sport 79 miles on it
3. 95 Indy Pace Car litte over 100 miles on it. Actual Car used in pacing the Indy 500 was purchased off AJ Foyt. Has papers to prove it.
4. 95 Yellow ZR1 23 miles on it
5. 78 Pace Car 213 miles on it.
Thanks guys in advance. We're trying to figure out what to look for in the event we sell them.
Okay, I'll bite. But I'd like to see pictures. No offense, but there's a lot of :bs in this forum.
If what you're saying is true, it's very, very, very cool.
Cars are only worth what the market will bring. And the market, as always, is fickle. Therefore, I won't give values. But I'll tell you, in my opinion, what I belief the hierarchy is. In order of decreasing value, I'd place the cars as follows:
95 Indy Pace car -- history is everything. If this is the actual car, can't be beat.
95 Yellow ZR1 -- low miles, great car, great color
78 Pace Car and 98 Pace car are close. The 78's are pretty common. A lot of people mothballed these. But they should continue to rise in value. The 98 will go down for awhile. Even with the low mileage. If kept that way, it will increase.
96 Grand Sport -- This car will be worth more, again, as time goes on. Right now, it's an extremely low mileage used car.
Who agrees, disagrees. This should make for a good debate.
So it would be very odd to have those cars and not drive them, but anything is possible.
The next thing that is odd is that you know the mileage with such percision. I mean these things must have been sitting for years unloved and now after all these years you know the exact milage? Again anything is possible...
However, to get the best price you need to advertise in the national corvette mag, its called something like ~"Corvette and Chevy trader". You see alot of cars like yours in there.
I'll hazard a few guesses, the 96 GS ~40k, 78 pace ~ 20-25, the 98 ~ 35ish, the ZR1 ~ 45-50.
Investmentwise, you might be better off to hang on to them. I heard of a 67 with 13 miles on it going to ~600k at the bloomington auction this summer.
No they get cleaned and oil changed every 3 months. So they are loved and cared for, Dad just bought them as a collector's item I guess you could say instead of something he wanted to drive.
Well make your bet and make sure to take a trip up to our family bin. Might take me 2 weeks to get time to get up there. They're in NW Indiana and I'm Indianapolis but first chance I get I'll get up there with pics of the cars and vin's.
Nope not kidding. I'm actually making a trip up to our storage bin tomorrow and I'll take pics of the cars and the vin numbers. So please give me till this weekend to get them hosted and I'll post them on here.

Re: Help Determine Worth (ProjectFusion)
I'm not from Missouri, but I need to be shown. This sounds too good to be true. Almost like Mrs. Arkus-Duntov calling to ask if you would be willing to take some of her husband's car parts off her hands as she had to move to a retirement home! :jester
Only one that I'm curious about is the 78 because that VIN is different then the rest but that's what I got from the pic I took of the VIN number. Before you say anything Yes my dad has money. He's a commodity broker in Chicago and good at it. Hopefully this puts the doubt to rest. So thanks in advance for your help and I'll get the pics of them post this weekend.
