I was wondering what sorts of modifications (if anything) have been done by previous owners to my '94 coupe. All I was told about are the spark plug wires and K&N filter. I've also noticed that the coolant line bypasses the throttle body (does this really have any effect?). But, there's no way to directly see other things like a T-stat or gears.
What would the digital temperature readout for the coolant be with the stock T-stat? Mine seems to stay at about 187-189 (analog reads somewhere around 205) at 35-50 degrees F air temperature. I've heard the LT1 is supposed to run hot, but I never heard how hot (and 190-205 doesn't seem "hot" to me).
In 6th gear at about 75mph my engine is turning about 1800rpms. I'm guessing this is normal for the stock gearing.
What other common mods are done to these cars and are there simple ways to check without tearing stuff apart?
Is that for the digital gauge or the analog gauge?
Also, I noticed that the "one to four" light comes on, but I can still shift into second gear just fine. How do I tell if it's broken or if it's been bypassed?
